Get ready to roll, layer, and play with color in this joyful intro to Gelli printing!
Thursday, July 17 6:30-8:30PM
Hosted by Bowerbird at 24 E Winter St Delaware, OH 43015
Join us for a playful, hands-on evening exploring the vibrant art of Gelli printing — a unique monoprinting method using soft, flexible gel plates to create layered, textural prints. No experience needed — just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to experiment!
Led by Rebecca Havens, a Westerville art teacher known for her joyful, process-based teaching philosophy, this workshop invites you to play with color, texture, and composition. You’ll learn how to build layers using acrylic paint, brayers, among other objects like stencils, stamps, and bubble wrap.
You’ll go home with:
• 4–6 test prints (great for framing or collage)
• A set of 6 Gelli-printed stationery cards
• A canvas bookmark
All uniquely printed by you!
All necessary supplies are included along with a bounty of objects to explore in adding shapes, texture and marks to your print. We'll be using 6x6 gelli mats. Participants are also welcome to bring their own materials to further personalize the process.
Optional items might include:
• Stamps and stamp ink
• Favorite acrylic paints or fluid acrylics
• Spray ink or stain
• Leaves, lace, stencils, or any found objects at home to explore in stamping shape, texture or mark making
• Larger Gelli mats, if participants would like larger prints.
Included with your ticket:
• All core supplies provided
• Light refreshments
• An exclusive 15% Bowerbird discount valid the night of the event
This 2–2.5 hour class is perfect for beginners or seasoned creatives looking to try something new. Come ready to experiment, get a little messy, and take home beautiful, one-of-a-kind prints!
*Participants less than 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
